CS:GO – Review

CS:GO – Cross Platform Review

The most important thing to remember in Counter-Strike:Global Offensive is to never give up. The only way to learn is through failure and dying …over, and over, and over again. Each time, learning something and improving your skills. Unless of course you are facing hackers, in which case you probably should give up….

Not for the faint of heart or for the weak in will. This game will test your patience, desire, spirit. and stamina. Your skills in other FPS games wont help you here. This game is so fast paced, a blink in the wrong moment can spell death. Even 15 year counter-strike veterans will have to step up their game to compete in CS:GO. There are many new play styles and game types and even the old school maps have been updated to keep things fresh. The guys at Valve added fire from Molotov cocktails and incendiary grenades, and they’ve modified each of the old-school maps just to throw you a curve ball. Also there is a new game-type called Arms Race where your weapons upgrade automatically when you get kills. This makes games even more fast paced and instant respawn you are never bored.

If you’ve never dabbled in the Counter-Strike franchise, in CS:GO the stakes are high. Each life is precious. Cuz its one death and you are out for the round. Buy your gear at the start of each round and hope you and your team have some success so you get the cash to get better gear next round. Be it bomb diffusing/planting, hostage rescue/defense, VIP escort/assassinate, the choice is yours. Counter-Terrorist or Terrorist.

It’s that addictive gratification of getting a kill, and ending someones round that keeps the player stuck in their chair and improving their skills. Counter-strike is fast paced, quickly you’ll learn to take your time and keep things under control.

Tips for staying alive

If you’ve never played Counter-Strike before, here are some important tips. Crouch, stand still, or walk to avoid spraying bullets all over the place. You are pretty much stuck with what you purchase so arm yourself carefully. Be vigilant and constantly look in all directions or your are sure to get a surprise bullet to the face. Enjoy the process of growing in skills and savor the sweet feeling of dropping an enemy putting them out for the rest of the round.

PC

By far the best way to play. Keyboard and mouse provide the traditional experience and the most precision and control. Have access to mods, custom skins, custom maps, and tons of other community-created content exclusively available on PC. Unfortunately there are also plenty of hacks and hackers which can totally ruin the fun if you end up in the wrong match. Valve has promised long-term PC support so expect balance updates and VAC anti-cheat updates.

PC System Requirements are easy only requiring

  • GPU: 256 MB or more, DirectX 9 compatible.
  • CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 or AMD Phenom X3 8750.
  • Memory: 2 GB RAM.
Purchase from here for a cheaper international/global edition and save money, get 10% cash back if you sign up with the shield, and help support this site and keep the great content coming. Just add the key in Steam and start downloading and playing immediately, in any country in the world.

PlayStation 3 & PlayStation 4

This is another great option to play. Offers support for keyboard and mouse so you get the same precision and control you do on PC which is a great advantage over the Xbox version.  Move is a fun change of pace, and you can totally get kills, though it can be glitchy and suddenly send you spinning into the opposite direction you want to go.

Xbox 360 & Xbox 1

The Xbox version is exactly the same as PlayStation. The only difference is no keyboard/mouse support.

Final Thoughts….
